The Ducati starter motor is specially designed for Ducati Monster and Superbike models. The rear sprue distinguishes it from other starter motor models and offers a number of advantages.
- Double sealing of the shaft for a longer service life
- Use of high-quality copper bushes and bearings
- High-quality magnets for higher starting torque
Two different starter motors were fitted to the 1098 at the time, with the original part numbers: 27040107A or 27040051A. The starter motor is installed up to engine: 004456.
